Mad About Hoops is the nation’s #1 hula hoop after-school company! MAH was founded in 2014 by Madison McBurney and in 2015 Amy Neel joined forces with Madison to expand the company even further.
We are a hula-hoop-based after-school and summer camp program with a focus on both dance and fitness. Our highly trained instructors provide top-quality enrichment classes to Houston, TX, Denver, CO, Charlotte, NC, Santa Fe, NM, Madison, WI, Atlantic City, NJ, and their surrounding areas.
Since our inception, our students’ progress and passion for hoop dance have been nothing short of amazing. We have created so many talented hoop stars and they have had incredible performance opportunities. We’ve performed halftime shows for the Harlem Globetrotters, Rice University, Houston Dynamo, and Houston Rockets! Our students have also performed at Houston’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and the Houston Children’s Museum. Many of our students have been featured on local television news!

Our mission is to encourage and inspire young children to have a lifelong love of fitness through hula hooping and circus arts. We aim to improve students’ physical health through movement and play as well as develop social skills and self-confidence through team-building activities and performances.

Madison McBurney Wiggin is the founder of Mad About Hoops and is passionate about hula hooping. She is the regional director of Mad About Hoops in Colorado and the Texas Hill Country. McBurney loves working with children and has worked as an after-school provider and a camp counselor since she was 16 years old. She’s performed at local events like the infamous Cirque du Soleil, Free Press Summer Fest, and the Houston Children’s Museum. Learn more about Madison by following her on social media @MadMcBWiggin
Amy Neel is a mother of two girls as well as a professional hoop dance performer. She spent eight years in the corporate world as a sales and marketing executive. She started hoop dancing as a way to get fit after having children, but on her journey to fitness, she found her passion for hoop dance. She left her corporate life behind to become co-owner of Mad About Hoops. She loves sharing her passion for health and hooping with people of all ages and skill levels. She has performed for Houston's Super Bowl Live in 2017 and is a regular performer for Freedom Over Texas, Houston's Thanksgiving Day Parade, and The Children's Museum of Houston just to name a few.
